List Building (part 2)

The second thing you need is an ‘autoresponder’.
An autoresponder is a program that you use to send out a series of emails to people who sign up to your list.

Again there are many to chose from, there are some reasonable free ones on the market, but the downside of the majority of them is that you are restricted to the number of members you can have on your list and/or the emails you send out have advertisements included in them by the owners of the sites (they want to make some money from your activity).

There are several popular ones on the market, the most well known are probably GetResponse and Aweber, both in the middle range on pricing and have been around for a long time. Others are iContact and Oprius, both worth a look as they do offer a range of facilities, not just an autoresponder. check out a range of different ones before you decide which one suits your needs best.

You will either need to write a series of emails or some programs will give you a series already pre-written, if you are using pre-written ones it is a good idea to make a few changes to them to make them unique to you.
Another thing to look out for is if they have personalisation codes written into them you will need to change those to fit the autoresponder you are using as they all use different codes.

Attraction Marketing

Attraction marketing, General No Comments »

If you are having problems building your business, there is a solution. Or I should really say there are a range of solutions. This is to try and help you decide which one is best for you.

Attraction Marketing

Attraction marketing has been around for a long time now, if you are looking to follow this system there are several websites you can join that will teach you how to do this effectively. This method of marketing does work and is much better than the methods recommended by most of the opportunities out there, you have probably seen plenty of advertisements saying you need more signups, but you also need an income while you are building your list of signups. I am going to talk about 3 of these programs here, they are ‘The Renegade network Marketer‘, ‘Magnetic Sponsoring‘ and ‘MLM internet marketing formula We will discuss each of them so that you can come to an informed decision about which is best for you.

The Renegade network Marketer

This program has been around for a couple of years now, it was started by Ann Sieg and is the cheapest of these programs on the long term as there is just a single up front payment for membership. That includes either a soft or a hard copy of the manual and full membership to the site with all the tools, tips and tricks you will need to build your business. As an introduction to the program she released a report that explodes the myths surrounding network marketing, you can get a free copy by clicking here. There is a free report that you can get by clicking here.
Recently she hosted a webinar training course in conjunction with Mike Klinger called ‘How I Built My First List’, that was sold out in a matter of days. It has now been released on downloadable video click here for more details.

Magnetic Sponsoring

This program, started by Mike Dillard, has also been around for a couple of years. the initial payment is lower for this program, but it is subject to monthly payments. Mike offers a free video series for each section of the program as an introduction, to let you see what it is all about, before sgning up. Click here for the intro videos to the main program. There is also a section about advertising efficiently for very little cost, click here for the video intro for that. The third main section is how to recruit successfully, click here for that video intro.

MLM internet marketing formula

This the third program I am quickly reviewing today is the most expensive of the three. However what this one does is takes the member by the hand and walks them through each stage telling them precisely what to do. There are advantages of this approach, it makes it easy for the member, but they are all promoting exactly the same thing in the same way. If a potential client has seen the program before, they are just going to think ‘here we go again’ and tend to ignore it afterwards. Click here to check it out.

Conclusion

These 3 programs are all based on teaching their members to use attraction marketing. They go about it in slightly different ways, but, whichever one you choose the end result should be very similar. The first 2 concentrate on teching the methods but emphasise that to be successful you must inject your personality into the process. So that you are marketing YOU and not just the opportunity. I hope you like this review and follow up on it if it is of interest. Any comments would be appreciated.

Basic List Building

General, Marketing No Comments »

List building is not difficult provided you follow a few simple instructions.

Whatever your program says, to build an effective list you need a few basic tools.
The first thing you need is your own domain name, this can be either related to the product you are selling or your own name, this should also be as short as possible, a lot of the easiest and most memorable names have already been used, so you may need to be a little more imaginative about the name you choose. The best ones to have would be .com but .net, .org, .info etc. can be used, but, if you look for a name and find the .com has already been taken, if you decide you use .net after that name people who have seen your site may remember the name and automatically add .com after it, taking them to someone else’s site.
The exception to this would be if you signed up with GDI (Global Domains International) you would get a .ws domain name, these are well known in internet marketing circles, but not widely recognised outside, so from that perspective they are more memorable. There are a lot of companies out there that you can purchase domain names from, one of the biggest is www.GoDaddy.com .

Hosting
Once you have purchased your domain name you will then need a hosting account, there are several companies advertising free hosting accounts, but they are not always the best. You need a company that has a good uptime (their servers don’t keep going off line) and the free ones usually make their money by running ads on the sites they host, so your site will be displaying ads that you have no control over and may well detract from your own advertising.
If you get your domain name from GDI (Global Domains International) they can also host your account, there are many others that provide a good reliable hosting service.

If you are new to internet marketing and want help with everything a good company to look at is Site Build IT they are the only site that helps you with everything from selecting your domain name, hosting your account and all you need to get your site up and running in as short a time as possible.

Starting the List

Once you have got your domain registered and hosted you need to get some quality information on that site, if you have any knowledge of writing HTML that will be useful. If not there are a range of WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors available. These display what you put onto the page without you needing to know any coding, they then put the code in for you in the background so that the page is formatted correctly and will display on your domain when they are uploaded. If you have Microsoft Office on your system you may well have ‘Frontpage’, this is the Microsoft editor, if you need a free version, by far the best is ‘NVU’ , there are several resources available on the internet to learn how to use it. Probably the most well known editor, that has a wide range of excellent facilities is ‘Dreamweaver’, but that is quite expensive, but well worth having if you can afford it. However you have signed up with ‘Site BulidIT’ they will be able to help you with getting your site built and designed.

Network Marketing Introduction

General, Marketing No Comments »

Hi there, Welcome to this  blog, the object of this blog is to help you become better at network marketing.

What is network marketing.
Put in its simplest way network marketing is the selling of goods and/or services over the internet. The goods can be digital goods, such as, ebooks or software that can be instantly downloaded by the purchaser to their computer and used. Physical products that need to be ordered and are then delivered to the purchaser, such as, electronic goods, books, gifts, items for the home and personal items. Services, such as, power, gas and telephone lines. These products can be your own products that you receive full payments for or affiliate products that are owned and produced by somebody else and you are paid a commission for selling them for them. This is just the introduction, if you look over to the right you will see the categories section, the links in there are to other sections you will be interested.

Network Marketing methods

The vast majority of products sold by network marketers are digital products that the purchaser can download immediately directly to their computer, this is also the easiest for the seller as they don’t have the bother of storing and shipping the goods

Affiliate products
These are items that are produced by somebody else who gives you permission to sell them for a commission, you get paid as per the terms of your agreement with the owner of the product.
This can be anything up to 75% of the price the purchaser pays for them and you can be paid immediately or payment may be deferred until
a given time in the future, some pay every month others may pay quarterly. This is commonly referred to as affiliate marketing.

MLM
MLM or multi level marketing is another popular way of making money on the internet, you are sponsored into the program and part of your monthly payment goes to your sponsor, their sponsor etc. this can go up many levels.
You are then expected to sponsor others into the program so that you generate your own income and add to the income of those above you, often referred to as your upline.
There are normally products associated with these programs, they are big in health & wellness products, training products and many other things. You also get paid a commission on the products your MLM program offers.

That is a brief overview of what internet marketing is all about, if you have any questions please post them as comments and I will do my best to answer them

All about advertising

The most important aspect of making money in network marketing is advertising, there are many different forms of advertising available on the internet.
Probably the most popular one people start off with is email marketing, you join a program that performs the dual function of building your list and sending out emails, there are quite a few of these programs out there, the ones I use are: Viralurl, List Auction, List Joe, and ListDotCom, I find I get a fairly good response from all of these.
If you do join any of them I would advise you take the upgrade option if you can possibly afford it as it gives you considerable benefits

One thing I like to point out at this stage is that if you use pre-written emails from your program there is a good chance they will have a personalisation field in them, they are designed to put the recipients name into either the headline or the subject. All of these programs use different formats for how to display the name into the final email message.
You have probably received emails that start “Dear {Firstname}” or something like that, this because the sender failed to follow this simple step.
For example the email you have got from your program has an opening line of:
Dear [[NAME]]
If you copied that directly into a ListDotCom email it would work correctly, but, if you put that into a ViralUrl email it wouldnt work you would need to change [[NAME]] to {firstname} for it to work.
All of these programs give specific instruction as to what personalisation code to put in to enable them to work.

More about advertising to come in my next post.
Don’t forget if you have any questions post them as comments here and I will reply to them.
